While you may be a bit apprehensive at first, we encourage you to consider tele-psychiatry as an alternative to fighting local traffic, juggling work and home obligations, etc. People generally love it - we have studies to prove it!
- Meta Mental Health will offer a first-of-its-kind psychiatric service to NorthWest Florida - combining aspects of concierge medicine and tele-psychiatry, toward improving both ACCESS and QUALITY OF CARE. We are also considering establishing insurance options. When the concierge aspect of the practice begins, a yearly "membership fee" will serve to keep patient numbers low, with intention on a higher quality service. Don't worry - you'll pay for initial services without a retainer to see if you like it. If you feel the services are a fit, then you may sign up!
- In addition to the traditional privacy protections that are provided in any consultation or ongoing treatment, tele-psychiatry affords additional discretion to our patients. Alexander Adelsberger, D.O.
Meet The Psychiatrist
Dr. Adelsberger received his undergraduate degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a focus in spanish literature and language.
Upon returning to his undergraduate program to pursue medicine, he decided upon osteopathic medicine for his medical school training in large part due to the 'mind, body and spirit' approach to treatment touted by the uniquely American medical tradition ("D.O. Difference.") He graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia campus, and was awarded by the American Osteopathic Foundation the Russel C. McCaughan Scholarship for recognition of exemplifying excellence in the holistic medical paradigm. (P.C.O.M.)
With an expressed interest in working with trauma and serving our veteran population, Dr. Adelsberger pursued his formal adult psychiatry training at Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Residency Program. (Harvard Psychiatry Residency)
Upon completion of his general training, he pursued and completed a specialization in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. (C.H.O.P. Behavioral Health)
